That makes it look normal on the monitors, but tiny on the Surface screen.

I found an option in Adobe Acrobat to turn off scaling - Edit > Preferences > General. Perhaps, as the article mentions, this program does not have programming to detect the DPI settings of the displays and adjust accordingly? Odd that PowerPoint wouldn't, but the rest of Office does. It didn't make any difference in the space taken up by the side bars and ribbonīar on the lower resolution displays. I did try toggling the option mentioned in the article you linked - Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings - on and off and launching PowerPoint. If I set all of the zoom levels to the same level, the resizing issue is moot - as there is no resizing to do - but that renders the Surface display unusable as everything is microscopic. The Surface is attached to a Surface dock, and that is attached to two Dell monitors that actually work at a lower resolution (1920x1080) than the Surface screen (2736x1824) via DisplayPort.
#Microsoft lync web app small screen windows 10
I suspect that this is more of a general Windows 10 issue than a Surface tablet issue. Is there a reason that the resizing applications (really the "chrome" of the applications) would work differently from app to app? Is there something that the developers have to do to make them compliant? Why would PowerPoint be an exception? In all of these cases, it results in title bars and side menus that are oversized - a waste of space. In addition, Microsoft Lync (the desktop version, not the mobile app) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC will not resize, either. Strangely, all of my Microsoft Office 2016 applications will resize themselves except for PowerPoint.

I've noticed that most programs will resize themselves when they are moved from one screen to another - as you would expect - but there are a few exceptions. This seems to be the sweet spot for me for sizing and usability. The Surface screen is set to 200% zoom, and the external monitors are set to 100%. I have a Surface Pro 4 set up with the docking station and two external monitors.
